UNLOCKING WORKFORCE POTENTIAL

The College Local Innovation Centres or “CLIC” seeks to establish specialised Innovation Centres aligned with regional economic priorities, dedicated to driving digital innovation and productivity across the region.

The 12-month pilot project, funded by the Innovate UK Further Education Innovation Fund, will help businesses across the Glasgow City Region gain access to comprehensive support and guidance on embedding and embracing digital technologies within their organisations.

Support will range from advisory services to workforce and skills development, as well as hands-on assistance in adopting new technologies, processes, and business models. Our aim is to engage with more than 200 businesses across Glasgow, Inverclyde, North and South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, and West Dunbartonshire through our 6 innovation centres.

West College Scotland’s Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Hub will spearhead precision engineering and automation, fostering skilled workforce and embracing Industry 4.0, transforming manufacturing landscape with cutting-edge technologies and streamlined processes. Organisations will be able to:

  • Gain insight into their current digital innovation maturity level and the action plans required to unlock and enable change
  • Gain access to expertise to support new product development
  • Gain access to facilities to test and develop new or enhanced processes and business models
  • Connect to a dedicated network of colleges and its support ecosystem
  • Access fully funded support and guidance to drive productivity in their business
