Lead Bossing covers shaping and forming lead used in roofing applications using hand tools and cold working techniques.

Course Aims

This course allows candidates to learn and develop skills and techniques used in Lead Welding / Lead Bossing.  It provides a knowledge of health and safety procedures for working with lead.

Trainees will gain skills and knowledge of lead bossing techniques and how to work and manipulate the lead sheet during installation. This will improve the overall quality of lead work and productivity on site. Over time knowledge and speed will improve, enabling further up-skilling and learning more complex detailing.

Lead Welding covers forming basic lead work details and joints using welding equipment. Lead Bossing covers shaping and forming lead used in roofing applications using hand tools and cold working techniques.

Entry Requirements

Some previous experience in lead-work would be beneficial, but not essential.
