Content

The aim of this course is to provide information, resources and activities so that the candidate can develop an understanding of basic counselling skills. The course will be part theory and part practice.

The course will cover the following areas:

  • Communication Skills
  • Concepts of Counselling
  • Aims of Counselling
  • Approaches to Counselling
  • Non-directive Counselling
  • Basic Counselling Skills
  • Building Relationships

You will receive an SQA Certificate on successful completion of course assessments.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, however, you should not currently be attending counselling yourself whilst studying this unit.
