Course Overview
Content
Candidates will gain knowledge and understanding of the preparation for and administration of medication according to current national guidelines and this will include organisational policy and procedures.
Entry Requirements
Care workers involved in the administration of medication however this award is also at SQCF level 7/SVQ level 3 therefore some degree of academic writing skills and individual learning is essential. Formal written agreement from the candidate’s employer is required for this award as direct observation of candidate’s practice in the workplace is a mandatory component of this PDA.
Format
Part-time course totalling 20 hours online tutorials plus 36 hours allocated to workplace observation and completion of SVQ unit including:
- one academic unit and one SVQ unit at level 3
- 10 online tutorial session over 10 or 15 weeks
- self-study/on line learning is included in this course.
- workplace observation and reflective account to complete SVQ unit which will extend beyond the 10 tutorial sessions.
- formal written assignments
