West College Scotland works with more than 40 secondary schools across the west Region – that’s about 3,000 senior pupils in seven different local authorities.
Our work ranges from taster courses, to traditional vocational training but now also to Higher National qualifications which may allow some pupils to move straight to 2nd year at university.
Sometimes the pupils come into College; sometimes our lecturers go into the schools.
Recently, our Principal Audrey Cumberford gave a presentation to an audience of education partners which included the Cabinet Secretary, Angela Constance, Principals from Scotland’s universities and colleges, and the Scottish Funding Council.
She wanted to show them the valuable work the college sector is doing with schools and, more widely, she wants to change attitudes.
So, she showed them this film!
