Lee Stott, Microsoft Technical Evangelist for the Games industry in the UK, spent two days at our Paisley Campus with over 160 of our NC, HNC and HND Computing students. He said "I was delighted to be at the College and provide opportunities to Students to train and use Microsoft latest developer and designer tools.”
Students were all signed up for cloud services on Microsoft Azure via DreamSpark – a Microsoft Program giving students free access to professional-level developer and designer tools, allowing them to create apps, websites, blogs and more.
Lee continues:
Students took part in hands-on sessions which helped them gain the knowledge needed to get to grips with Microsoft Azure Cloud Services and develop professional online portfolios. We’re very happy to help students get a head start on their career.
Lee also spoke on the Computing industry and gave advice to students to maximise their employability prospects.
Students were delighted by this exceptional opportunity to gain industry knowledge and experience of Microsoft tools. Mark MacPhail, HND Software Development student, said:
I really got a lot out of these two days. The lecture was very informative and provided us with essential industry employment information. The workshop was an opportunity people wouldn't normally have and I’m looking forward to putting what I've learned about Azure into practice.
The students who created the best website and blog were rewarded with the latest computing gadgets from Microsoft. Needless to say they were thrilled!
William Fordyce, NC Computer Games Development Student, and Charlotte Brewster, HND Software Development Student, created some amazing websites and blogs hosted on Azure and were rewarded with the latest computing gadgets from Microsoft, handed out by Technical Evangelist Lee Stott.
