Keppie Design Ltd, the Glasgow-based architects and interior design company, has chosen one of our Interior Design students to transform a working space within its head office.

For two terms, Art & Design students at our Paisley campus worked on a “live” project to design the space, gaining valuable work experience through site visits and client interviews.  The client brief was written by Keppie Director, David Ross:

I was delighted to become involved with the College and to have acted as a client for this project. Keppie understand the value of real projects and of creating an environment of constructive criticism.  It's basic to all professional design ideas.  I'm convinced that the students will have benefitted from working on a "live" project, meeting real client expectations."

After presenting their work, six students were shortlisted.  These six were then given feedback on their initial presentations and able to fine-tune their designs.

In the end, Keppie selected Danielle Stewart's design.  Danielle was delighted to win competition. She said:

"I am so honoured to be part of a class that had the chance to work with David Ross from Keppie.  David inspired us and lit our imaginations. He made us realise that learning is something we should all love because it never stops.

This experience has allowed me to achieve my dream of being accepted into University. David took the time to speak to us and helped us understand design.

"To be awarded the Keppie Design Ltd Certificate of recommendation is a privilege and I know how much it will benefit me in the future."

Now HND Interior Design Graduate, Danielle will be going straight into third year of an Interior Design degree course at Caledonian University Interior Design.
