The Award Ceremony, taking place in London on Friday 9 October, was celebrating the achievement of Construction apprentices from all over Great Britain.
David certificated last February from the SVQ Level 3 Roof Slating & Tiling course. He is now working full-time for A. Menzies & Sons, the same company where he had started as an apprentice.
Last year, while still in apprenticeship, David had already won the 2014 CITB Adult Apprentice of the Year Award. This series of success came as no surprise to Jim Strain, Curriculum Enhancement Lecturer in Construction at our Paisley Campus:
David is one of the best students I have had the pleasure to teach. He has always strived to become better and regularly asked to work through his breaks to complete his models to a higher than necessary standard. He has a first class attitude and has overcome any difficulties through displaying determination and a desire to continually improve on all aspects of his craft.
Daniel is overwhelmed by winning yet another Award. He says:
I’m actually surprised I won runner-up this year as I was really impressed by the achievements of the other apprentices when listening to their stories during the event. All this makes me even more confident and proud of my work. It really makes you feel your contribution to the Construction Industry is important.
