We're delighted to announce to employers and learners across Scotland that as of this week we begin a three year partnership with The Learning Curve Group, one of the UK’s most established suppliers of Distance Learning courses. We are also continuing our successful partnership with The Skills Network, who we have worked with over the past two years provisioning our distance learning qualifications to both large and small employers enabling a cost efficient way of meeting statutory, developmental and emerging training needs.
Our new partnerships will enable the college to make an extended and exciting new offer of distance learning courses using technology enabled approaches as well as established paper based methods. Liz Connolly, WCS Vice Principal for Corporate development, points out:
Our extended programme will help meet the growing demand across many workplaces for improved skills, with employers increasingly aware of the huge potential benefits to their businesses and individuals willing to enhance their professional competency and well-being.
We are planning additions to our portfolio of distance learning, starting this month with a new NCFE certificate in Understanding Autism, with additions such as certificated courses in Management and IT planned for the future. We will also continue to deliver our impressive portfolio of Social Care courses, such as Administration of Medicine and Understanding Dementia, as well as more generic training to meet most employer training needs such as qualifications in Customer Service, Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Team Leading.
We assess and certificate all qualifications through our own staff and quality processes, enabling employers and learners to look at progression routes to full time qualifications in different industry sectors such as HNC in Social Care and SVQ’s in Construction, Hospitality and many, many more.
