As part of their course unit, the students worked on the interior design of Morse Code's new premises in Glasgow. The challenge was to include office as well as studio spaces and give an ambiance which would inspire the company's clients who rank amongst the best talent in all areas of the music and creative industries.
The students gained invaluable experience through this project, thoroughly following the creation process and managing their times to meet deadlines. Billy Kinnear, Paisley Campus Design Curriculum Quality Leader, said:
I am delighted with how professional our students were with their approach to this project. In such a short space of time, they managed to present their work to the client on schedule; and pitched their ideas and inspirations through their finished boards and sketchbooks. They were a joy to watch and did themselves, the department and the College proud.
The outcome of the students’ hard work was stunning. Brendan Moon, owner of Morse Code Management, was invited at our Paisley Campus to be presented with the Student's projects and was impressed. Brendan said:
I'm very pleased with the students' work. I can tell they've put in great efforts to produce creative and functional designs for our office and studio space. Every project includes great ideas and I’m unable to pick a winner. My plan is to take inspiration from each of them to create a perfect blend. This will give us a ‘best of all’ interior design of our new premises!
Brendan will invite all of the students along to his premises, for the opening/unveiling, once the work has been completed.
Morse Code Management is also currently working with our HND Graphics students, to design promotional and marketing materials for ‘Into the Ark’; one of the acts that Brendan’s team manage.
