Living up to its name ‘Make-up Mayhem’, the evening which was attended by industry professionals, press and friends and family, saw the audience transported to land of fantasy where spectacular visuals were brought to life with mythical creatures, monsters and fairy-tale characters.

Karen McKinney, 25 from Paisley who created 'An Eternal Entrapment' pictured above said, 'What a fantastic course this has been to study – every part has been excellent. I’m going to be sad to leave in a few weeks that's for sure.'

Hairdressing, Beauty and Make-up Artistry, Head of Sector, Karen McIlvenna, said “Events like these give our students the chance to showcase their eclectic range of skills by transforming models using a mix of fashion led and special effects cosmetics.

“The students were given twenty four weeks to prepare a fantasy, period or prosthetic special effect character of their choice using the skills and techniques learned throughout their three years study.

“Each of the students worked extremely hard on the run up to the event creating and perfecting their own personal looks and display areas.

“Yet again the event was a huge success; the standard of work produced by each of the students was incredible. They truly wowed the audience.

We are exceptionally proud of what each of them have achieved; they’re a credit to themselves and the College and I’m in no doubt that they will go on to successful careers within the Make-up Industry.

Nineteen year old Chloe Queen (pictured above), from Cambuslang who studies at our Clydebank campus added, ' The HND has been an amazing contrast from last year; the two years course is very varied. There are so many routes you can take in Make-up Artistry and so many amazing products you can use. I love special effects. I’ve learned all the skills I need to work in industry. I’m excited to see what the future holds.'

Fourty Five year old Greenock Campus student, Sharon Letson added, 'I’m dreading leaving college as I've studied here over the years. I’ve enjoyed specialising in postiche and think I’ll go down that route. There are great opportunities - all you need to do is put in the work and the rest will happen'.
