Welcoming guests from Spain, Italy and the Netherlands the partners met to discuss the important research initiative which aims to identify new roles and competences for home care workers in Europe, in the framework of integrated home care for elderly people with chronic disease.
Head of Care, Davina Coupar commented on the Colleges role in this project, “Our remit is to devise a qualification for enhanced home careers for people with chronic illness, produce the teaching material for this and assist with the piloting of it.
We are delighted to be part of this project and proud to be building a reputable and creditable qualification that we believe will ultimately enhance the lives of the elderly living with chronic disease.
Speaking to us about the content of the meeting was Curriculum and Quality Leader for Health and Social Care at the Colleges Clydebank campus, Olwen Kilpatrick said, “This meeting provided the group with an opportunity to discuss any changes that needed to be made to the qualification, how we are going to validate the qualification and how we intend to pilot and raise awareness of it.
‘Overall it was a successful few days which has taken us one step closer to the completion of the project. We hope our guests had an enjoyable experience here in Scotland and we look forward to meeting them in the Netherlands for the next stage of this project.”
