The Scottish Government has notified us of major changes to Individual Learning Accounts. The revised scheme will come into effect in October 2017 and will be called an Individual Training Account (ITA).

If you're eligible then you'll still be entitled to funding towards your course fees. The differences are that you'll only be able to do one course in any academic year, and that courses will be geared towards helping you with getting a job or progressing in your career. It is anticipated that the current ILA scheme will end on 30 September 2017.

There are some key dates that we'd like to make you aware of:

 

TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT OR RENEW AN EXPIRED ACCOUNT

Mid May 2017

Application and renewal forms must be returned by mid May so that they can be processed by 31 May

31 May 2017

Last day that an account will be opened or renewed

 

TO BOOK A COURSE UNDER THE EXISTING ILA SCHEME

31 August 2017

Last day bookings can be made under the existing ILA scheme

30 September 2017

Last date that you can attend a course under the old ILA scheme

October 2017
