SQA National Qualifications – Highers and National 5 examinations will not run as scheduled. This decision has been made, very reluctantly, by the Scottish Government and SQA. The reason for the cancellation is due to school and college closures because of the potential impact of COVID – 19. This is an unprecedented step which no college or school has faced before. Please be assured that we are working very hard with the Scottish Government, SQA and other awarding bodies, to minimise any impact on grades and your progression on to other programmes or institutions. We will issue further information on what types of evidence we can help you to generate to support any claims for grades or certification we make on your behalf.
HND/C Graded Unit examinations – closed book examinations for our ND/C programmes are run internally by the college and as the college buildings will be closed we are unable to run these. We are working with the awarding authorities to assess what we can do to ensure you receive your final group award. This affects all college students across the country. Our staff are working remotely and you should continue to follow the instruction of your lecturers, completing course work and submitting assessments electronically, as directed.
We are very aware of the impact of the current national situation is having on your situation and we know that you will be anxious to find out what this all means for you. We will keep you informed with up to date information as soon as we have this.
In the meantime, please continue working on any outstanding course work, projects or assessments. This will help us support any claims for certificates we make on your behalf. It will also help us to secure suitable next steps progression for you.
