Lateral Flow Testing kits are available for all College staff and students who are regularly timetabled on campus, to complete essential face–to–face activities. This COVID–19 testing programme is being led by the Department for Health and Social Care and the Scottish Government to provide asymptomatic testing in education establishments.
Taking part in testing is voluntary. There is no expectation or obligation to participate. Nobody will be required to undergo testing without consent, and nobody will be excluded from college/campus if they do not wish to test.
However, whilst testing is voluntary, staff and students are encouraged to participate in the programme, to contribute to the wellbeing of our West College Scotland community. If you wish to participate in the COVID-19 testing programme you should complete the online form by following this link.
You can collect testing kits from any of our main receptions once you have completed the form. In the interest of social distancing, if the reception areas are busy, please return when it is quieter. Please be assured that we will be monitoring demand, and, if necessary, further collection points will be made available. Participation in the testing programme involves self-administering a test twice a week at home, and logging results on a confidential national database.
In addition to College provision, as of 26 April 2021, any adult in Scotland can get a supply of Lateral Flow Tests either by picking them up at a local centre or registering to have them sent by mail. For details on how to access test kits, click here.
