This innovative qualification will provide the adaptability and flexibility required to respond to a constantly changing employment and working environment, while supporting life-long learning and multiple career options.
The pilot will be delivered in our state-of-the-art Finnart Street facilities which recently received a significant £350,000 investment. Learners will be given the opportunity to undertake units in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering covering traditional Engineering topics such as Mathematics; Electrostatics and Electromagnetics and Practical Engineering Skills to name a few.
But they will also receive learning in the meta-skills required to excel in their future careers including Project Management; Team Working Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Independent Thinking, Collaboration, and Innovation.
There will be a focus on holistic assessment in the form of project based learning and practical exercises working towards a large project-based unit where you will require to work cohesively as part of a small project team working with others to design or develop, and evaluate, solutions to a real-world engineering problem.
Dr Lee Coutts, Assistant Principal Technology & Skills said,
