West College Scotland’s Beauty Therapy department were delighted to be offered the opportunity to gain first-hand industry experience at the luxury Cameron Spa, located at the Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond. 

The Cameron Spa team invited a group of the College’s HNC and HND Beauty Therapy students along for a day of activities and an insight to industry. The students were transported to the lochside destination courtesy of the spa and enjoyed an informative and engaging presentation about the Spa’s history, talks from their staff about life as a Therapist, and a tour of the Spa’s tranquil and unique facilities including luxury wellness rooms & a rooftop infinity pool.

The Cameron Spa team were extremely impressed by the high standards presented by the students during their visit which resulted in them being offered the chance to take the first step into industry, interviewing with the prestigious brand. Following a competitive recruitment process including interviews and trade tests, 3 students Mollie Mackie, Ashley Vincent and Marileigh Barnes have been offered permanent part time positions with the Spa and have since received industry leading training with luxury skincare brand, ESPA with an average pass of 95%. This will allow the talented students to continue their studies at our Clydebank campus next academic year whilst gaining invaluable industry experience, preparing them invaluably for the world of work.

From education directly into high value employment, this partnership allows of employers, students and the College to generate the perfect cycle for learning and employment, enriching the industry as a whole. We are delighted to work in partnership with Cameron Spa and look forward to expanding this model further in the years to come.”
