The event held at the iconic Signet Library in Edinburgh saw the students put their skills into practice as they captured candid images of guest and award winners at the evening reception.
Speaking to the students about their experience, twenty-three-year-old, Reiss McGuire from Glasgow said, “Work experience like this is very important for career progression, especially as a Photographer.
It provides an opportunity to build communication and problem-solving skills within a fast paced environment and is great for networking.
'I really enjoyed the experience, and it was great to use my skills in a new environment.”
Impressed with professionalism and quality of work, Kate Johnston, Head of Communications at Lowland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA) said,
Reiss and Amber were excellent ambassadors for West College Scotland; exemplifying how their college educations are successfully preparing them for the world of work.
‘With professional demeanours and helpful attitudes, Reiss and Amber settled quickly into the ‘event team’, helping us to create a really special night for our guests. The photographs produced were industry quality and will be used in future marketing and communications campaigns.
My thanks to West College for providing us with such motivated, capable and personable photography students.
