The biggest Scottish College Awards to date, celebrated the talent, innovation and achievements demonstrated by staff and students from across the country.
Shortlisted for the College Community Learning Award which honours the innovative work colleges do to deliver community-based learning opportunities, the College scooped Gold for their work with Ferguslie Learning Centre. Dedicated to the delivery of adult based learning the centre provides local, accessible, and inclusive flexible opportunities which help people to overcome barriers to learning. With a range of courses on offer students have the opportunity for progression and are supported to the next step in their journey whether that be further education or employment.
Iain Forster-Smith, Assistant Principal Student Life and Skills said, “It’s fantastic to see the hard work and dedication of our Ferguslie team recognised in this way. The centre offers a unique and vibrant environment where local people can learn, interact, socialise, gain skills and confidence to improve their life’s.
The judges recognised the sustained delivery outcomes, pathways and partnership work the centre provides.
