The event brought together students and staff past and present, alongside a host of brand partners, to share their experience of industry and the changes in the world of makeup artistry over the past 30 years.
The college has produced countless success stories with alumni going on to achieve incredible things within industry from West End wig master Craig Forrest Thomas to Vieve owner and major makeup influencer Jamie Genevieve or BAFTA accredited Lauren O’Donnell to salon owner and renowned tv makeup artist, Laura Hill to name just a few.
At the milestone event there were pop-up from a host of leading brand partners including NARS, Mac, Benefit, House of Fraser, BPerfect Cosmetics, Treasure House Makeup, Urban Decay, Nanshy, MouldLife, All Talent Agency and more.
Curriculum Quality Leader for Makeup Artistry, Morven Aikman who wrote and developed the original course in 1993, alongside Sharon MacFarlane, now Tertiary Education Leader at UHI Inverness College said,
“It was such a fantastic evening, bringing together our talented students, staff and brand partners from the past 30 years. We were able to hear about the amazing things our past students have gone on to achieve, share industry experience and build relationships with sector leading brands. We can’t wait to see what the next 30 years holds for Makeup Artistry at West College Scotland.”
