The students were treated to a tour of the stadium before taking part in business workshops which involved discussions around how the club can grow their commercial income within a football setting.
Chief Operating Officer, Keith Lasley spoke to the students about the importance of community engagement within the club and the range of financial and ethical issues that they considered during the strategy process.
Business Lecturer, Stewart Milton who orchestrated the visit commented,
Trips like this provide students with an opportunity to develop the skills they learn in class and see first-hand how these practices are applied within a business environment.
Speaking to the HND students they commented on how amazed the were to discover that a social media campaign, created to launch the club's away shirt featuring Scots DJ Ewan McVicar, saw their social media activity soar from 10 million views to around 120 million. This also resulted in sales figures over 10 times the numbers of shirts sold the previous season.
