As part of their ‘working with others’ unit the class had to work in groups to organise and run an event with the aim of raising money for their chosen charities.

Speaking to ESOL Lecturer, Sarah O’Brien commented, “Working in groups the students worked together organise a bake sale where they raised a fantastic amount of £500.

They all worked really well together to deliver the successful event.

Speaking to the students they commented, “We chose Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity because we wanted to act locally and we believe that children should have the chance of a healthy life without pain and suffering.”

‘To be honest, working in a group was difficult, we are all different but we did it. What counts is the effect, we collected £500.”

The class were joined by a representative from the charity where they handed over the cheque.

This amazing fundraising will help fund life-changing projects and equipment at Scotland’s busiest children’s hospital, making such a difference for young patients and their families.
