West College Scotland’s Greenock Campus was abuzz with excitement on Tuesday, 26 November, as students took to the runway for the college’s first-ever West Fashion Show.

Titled Four Seasons in a Day: Scottish Weather, the event highlighted individuality, creativity, and inclusivity while raising vital funds for the College Green Rooms.

The star of the show was a stunning collection of "factory seconds" generously donated by Marble Fashions. These unique pieces, modelled by the college’s talented students, embodied the event’s commitment to sustainability by keeping items in circulation for longer. Proceeds from the subsequent clothing sale will be used to stock the Green Rooms with perishable goods, supporting students who face hardship.

The show was a remarkable cross-campus initiative that brought together departments and talents from across the college:

  • Hair and Make-Up Students styled the models to reflect the theme of Scottish weather.
  • Catering Students provided food to keep the models energised.
  • HND Dance Students opened the show with an electrifying routine to Working 9 to 5, each dancer representing a different occupation.
  • Music Students acted as DJs, setting the perfect atmosphere.
  • Photography Students captured the event, while Television students created an incredible video documenting the show and its preparation.
  • Business Students hosted the event, welcoming and seating guests with professionalism.

The models themselves were all student volunteers, including learners from the Learner Development Department, who dazzled on the runway alongside a few surprise staff guests.

Elodie Lemaire Nowinski, Assistant Principal, Improving Life Chances and Skills and the mastermind behind the event, reflected on its success:

"This show has been an incredible celebration of the talent and diversity of our student body.

Watching everyone come together to bring this vision to life has been truly inspiring.

From the creative teams behind the scenes to the volunteers on the runway, this event showcased the very best of our college community while raising awareness about sustainability and supporting our students in need.

The event was a resounding success, lifting spirits across the campus and underscoring the college’s commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and student support.
