HNC Applied Science graduate Lewis Kennedy is about to embark on an exciting 12 month project based at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Switzerland.

West College Scotland is delighted to announce that it has received funding from the Renfrewshire Local Employability Partnership, to deliver training and qualifications via the Employability Grant Programme.

West College Scotland is delighted to receive additional funding from The Connecting Scotland initiative to support some of our most vulnerable students to work and learn online. The initiative aims to help 60,000 digitally excluded households online by the end of 2022.

Staff and students from across the College donate toys and gifts to their local Women’s Aid centres. Christmas for so many of us, is a time for making memories with friends and family and exchanging present with loved ones. Sadly, this isn’t the case for everyone. Hundreds of people rely on the kindness of others and we at West College Scotland wanted to do our bit to help those less fortunate across our local communities.

West College Scotland (WCS) won two awards and received three Highly Commended, and one Commended commendations at last night’s (Thursday 11th December) annual CDN College Awards held at the Glasgow Radisson Blu hotel.

Students from the College’s Clydebank campus Travel, Tour Guiding and Airport Operations course celebrated the completion of their Cabin Crew unit with an awards ceremony on Thursday 2 December.

West College Scotland’s ‘Critical Engineer’ programme aims to prepare local SMEs to thrive in a Manufacturing 4.0 environment, through driving innovation, stimulating collaboration and boosting productivity and, to support this, we are offering FREE training in CNC Machining and Programming.

Our Beauty Therapy students were delighted to give something back to some of deserving NHS workers recently as we supported a staff wellness event on 10th November at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Inspired by International Chefs Day that highlights the importance of passing on knowledge and culinary skills to the next generation of chefs, West College Scotland in partnership with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) hosted a school ‘takeover’ which saw over 200 school pupils from 30 different schools visit the Colleges campuses in Clydebank, Greenock and Paisley.
