Overview
What will I learn?
This course provides workplace assessors with the knowledge and skills to:
- Successfully assess a learner's performance through observation and offer feedback on these decisions in line with the organisational and awarding body requirements
- Assessment preparation and planning to meet the needs of learners and the environment
- Judging evidence against agreed standards to make assessment decisions
- Providing feedback and support on your assessment decisions
- Contributing to the internal quality assurance process
What qualifications do I need?
No formal qualifications required to undertake this qualification. Applicants should be employed in a suitable job role with access to a minimum of two learners undertaking an appropriate award.
Applicants must meet the occupational competence requirements of the qualification that they wish to assess and also be working in a training/assessing environment with a minimum of two learners working towards an S/NVQ qualification or a national unit with the support of appropriately qualified Internal Verifier as their mentor. This qualification can be started at any point in the academic year.
Assessment will be conducted through the production of a portfolio cataloguing of learner's work.
What can I do after?
There are opportunities for assessors to operate within a variety of environments where S/NVQ programmes are provided.
Progress to PDA Internally Monitor and Maintain the Quality of Workplace Assessment (L&D11).
