Designed to develop the skills and connections to prepare young people for a Modern Apprenticeship in the Barbering or hairdressing Industry . This engaging course will give you the basic skills needed to get started in hairdressing and barbering.
With extensive connections to the Industry, highly experienced lecturing team and realistic working environment, West College Scotland is the perfect place to start your apprenticeship journey.
This course will provide you with basic knowledge and understanding of Barbering and Hairdressing at the lowest level to allow progression in the future with your skills. It is expected you will attend a work placement within a Barber shop/ Hairdressing salon during your course.
What qualifications do I need?
There are no formal entry requirements however a successful informal interview will take place before a place is offered. Applicants must be age16 or over at course commencement
What can I do after?
On completion of the Pre - Apprentice course you can move directly to a Modern Apprentice Level 2 Hairdressing / Barbering or continue with a NPA Level 5 Barbering short full time course Jan – June within College.
