At age 18 David joined the Learner Development department at Clydebank Campus in August 2020. Before that he had been introduced to college through a school link programme which he attended on a Thursday morning whilst still attending school. He progressed on his college journey joining the Development course and after successfully completion he attended and successfully completed the Pathways programme.
During his time at college, he acquired a range of independent living skills, including cooking, IT, internet safety, volunteering, gardening, and interview skills. These courses provided opportunities for him to enhance his numeracy and communication abilities. He actively participated in diverse projects such as video production, arts and crafts, photography, and science. The college staff has taken joy in witnessing David's development into a self-assured, sociable, and supportive young man.
Currently, David is in his final year at College on the Community course. He juggles this college course with a part-time voluntary position at Clyde Shopmobility and he plans to continue in this role when he completes his course this summer.
David has made many friends whilst at college and he will continue to keep in touch with them at the Golden Friendships club which he attends regularly.
