Our Online Learning staff will provide you with information to help you organise the financial side of being a student. We accept Cash, Paypal, Cheque, Debit/Credit Card payments as well as Fee Waiver for some eligible courses. Please note: you can only undertake a course once when using a fee waiver. If you do not complete the course satisfactorily within the allotted time, and wish to try again, you will have to pay the full fee for the course.
For many courses no qualifications or experience are necessary. The Online Learning staff will tell you if any qualifications are needed for your choice of study.
There are no specific start dates for a course and continue throughout the year. The only time courses are not open is from mid July to the end of August
Each course has a set timeframe. Course lengths vary from 2-20 weeks. You should be aware before you start your course how long you have to complete. Online Learning Courses are flexible and we can offer extensions to completion dates within reason.
Most courses will have their study and assessment resources available through online via our various Virtual Learning Environments. For some qualifications you will need more traditional materials, such as books and tapes. These will be sent through the post.
Our students tell us that support from those close to them is very important, so we would encourage you to tell them about your course and what you want to achieve. With their help you can still have a social life while still studying effectively and achieving your goals!
Each course is different.
For our NCFE courses a few hours per week would be the minimum amount of study time.
For Moodle courses a good rule of thumb is that for every hour spent doing ‘class’ work (assignments etc.) one hour should be spent doing ‘private’ study.
The Online Learning staff will be able to give you more information tailored to your specific qualification.
Most of our courses are fully online where you will be submitting your assessments via the online learning platform. If you are studying a paperbased course you will be asked to email or post in your assessments to be marked. The Online Learning staff will be able to tell you more about the arrangements for your course.
Our dedicated Team are here to help you through your course! Due to the high volume of emails we receive, please use our Online Learning Contact form. We respond to all enquiries in date order so please do not send multiple forms of contact, we aim to respond to you within 7-10 days.
