What will I learn?
This online course is for anyone who wishes to develop their knowledge and understanding of allergy awareness.
You will learn to understand allergies, the causes of allergies and what to do in case of an allergic reaction.
This course focuses on the Adult Health and Social Care Sector so may be applicable for those working in care home, support worker sectors
Topics covered in this course include:
- Understand food allergens, allergies and intolerances
- Understand the importance of food labelling
- Understand regulations for food labelling and packaging regulations
- Know the methods for intolerance diagnosis and treatment
- Allergy awareness for those working in adult health and social care
- Understand how to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction
- Know the signs and effects of allergic reactions
This is a marked course which requires short essay style answers to allow your assigned marker to be able to identify that you have understood the skills and knowledge to meet the required standards.
This is a fully online course and access to the materials and Assessments will be emailed to you.
What qualifications do I need?
As this course is delivered online it would be beneficial if the candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.
This course does not require a personal statement.
