What will I learn?
This online course will provide a knowledge and understanding of how adverse circumstances can have a negative impact on anyone’s life, but children and young people are particularly vulnerable.
They might face difficult circumstances such as the death or divorce of parents, domestic violence, or national and international disasters. These types of adverse childhood experiences can have an impact on their development and mental health, which may continue into adulthood and affect their life chances. This fully online adverse childhood experiences course will give you the skills needed to support children and young people affected by adverse experiences. You will gain insight into how to strengthen their resilience and empower them to overcome the challenges they face.
There are 3 topics in this course including:
- Exploring childhood and family structures
- Introduction to adverse childhood experiences
- Understand strategies to improve outcomes for children affected by adverse childhood experiences
This is a marked course which requires short essay style answers to allow your assigned marker to be able to identify that you have understood the skills and knowledge to meet the required standards.
This is a fully online course, you will be emailed with a login to access the course and assessments
What qualifications do I need?
As this course is delivered online it would be beneficial if the candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.
This course does not require a personal statement.
