Located just over 30 minutes by train from Glasgow Central, West College Scotland Finnart Campus in Greenock provides an exciting opportunity to study Science at a range of levels in our friendly, supportive surroundings.

What will I learn?
You will learn about two main areas of science and the range of subjects studied will include:
- Lab Safety
- Practical Skills
- Research Skills
- Experimental procedures
- Chemistry
- Microbiology
- Immunology
- Statistics
This course is for you if you're working towards studying HNC Applied Science.
What qualifications do I need?
You’ll need passes in National 5 Chemistry, Biology and Maths (or equivalent).
If you're invited to an interview, please bring proof of your qualifications.
For applicants where English is not the first language you will be required to provide evidence of ESOL at Level 6 Grade C or above (or equivalent).
What can I do after?
After successfully completing this course you'll be guaranteed a place on the relevant HNC Applied Science or Biomedical Science course at West College Scotland.
You'll also be able to apply for trainee technician roles in a laboratory. This could be in a university research lab, industrial lab, or NHS lab. Alternatively, you might work in production for a life science company eg manufacturing materials for use in science labs or in diagnostic kits, or gain employment in a support role in diagnostics.
