Dawn who now owns Secret Salon in Port Glasgow, is the only student at West to have ever gained 100% in her Graded unit!

Dawn said,

“The HNC was something I always put off due to being a bit older. There were many reasons why I wanted to take on this new challenge, I really wanted to get out of my comfort zone.”

Speaking of the experience she said, “I learned so many more skills than I expected to, even after all the years I have spent as a stylist. I also made new friends and it gave me a fresh new outlook to take back to my clients in the salon.”

On recommending the course to others Dawn said, “I would encourage anyone in the industry to take the course.  You get so much support not just from the lecturing staff but from the other students also.”

Dawn says that the biggest benefit of completing her HNC primarily gave her the skills to open her own Salon alongside her business partner;

“It sparked my creativity, and I gained more confidence in myself overall as a result of taking the HNC course.  I would tell anyone thinking of this to go for it, no matter where they are in their hairdressing journey!”
