West Care Academy will enable local people to enter the care sector and upskill people currently working in care roles, as part of their continual professional development. In doing so, we aim to build the collaboration, innovation, and leadership capability of local care businesses to meet the health and social care challenges of our post-pandemic society.
Head of Care, Jacqueline McLellan, commented, “I’m delighted West College Scotland are launching the Care Academy.
The College had an excellent reputation for delivering high quality health and social care courses, but the Care Academy will be flexible and responsive to the specific needs of those seeking employment or in need of upskilling in the care sector.
The Academy will provide training for carers who are new to the sector or who want additional qualifications and will enable existing workers and new entrants to advance their skills and deliver the best possible outcomes for service users.”
