Overview

What will I learn?

This course will prepare learners for the Higher ESOL exam in May 2025.  The course content will develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at an Advanced level.  There will be focussed work on idiomatic and colloquial vocabulary and building variety and complexity of grammatical structures.  Applicants for this course may already be studying in Higher Education or would like to progress to HE.  Skills development in the course will also build confidence for learners in non-routine work and social situations

What qualifications do I need?

You'll need to have passed SQA ESOL National 5 or an equivalent qualification at Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) level B2.

If you’d like to study on this course, we’ll ask you to complete a language assessment so that we can decide if it is the best level of study for you.

What can I do after?

This course increases confidence to access employment and study opportunities.  You could continue into College courses at Level 7.
