What will I learn?

Have you ever thought of a career in Barbering?

This short Full time January start, 16 week programme will equip you with the basic skills and knowledge required to start you off in a Barbering career.

The course will provide you with a sound knowledge of barbering skills including effective customer communication preparing them for relevant practical barbering services.:

  • Clippering Techniques
  • Gents Haircutting Skills
  • Cutting Facial Hair
  • Introduction to Facial Shaving
  • Shampoo & Gents Scalp Massage
  • Finishing and Styling of Gents Haircuts
  • Work Placement

What qualifications do I need?

No formal qualification required however any underpinning skills in the hairdressing or barbering Industry would be beneficial

A strong desire and keen interest in Barbering is essential

This course requires all applicants to be 16+ years

What can I do after?

You will gain a National Progression Award at Level 5 in Barbering and on completion of this course you can move to industry as a trainee Barber and may continue your training in Barbering progressing to complete SVQ Levels 2 and 3.
